I adopted my beautiful dog here in August. I was offered to do their foster to adopt, I agreed because I was told that the shelter would handle any medical issues until I fully adopted her. At the time of foster I was told she had all her shots, and we scheduled her to be sprayed within a month. I also noticed a large lump on her elbow and asked if that could be addressed by the Vet during the spay, to which they agreed. LIES. They gave her to me WITHOUT ANY SHOTS, I only found out from the adoption paperwork they gave them to her while being spayed. They also did a terrible job with the Spay and she now requires surgery because they did the procedure incorrectly leading to infection and discomfort. Where are our tax Dollars?! Their number for appointments is a JOKE! NO ONE's THERE TO TAKE THE CALLS. Or they are picking their nose or on their cell. You get stuck on the Quue for an hr. then are told "system error" and are disconnected! time and time again day after day! In the many years I have been in Stockton, never have I seen their trucks driving around setting traps catching stray cats nor catching stray dogs. There are so many injured or vicious strays yet the shelter, city, nor animal control does the job it's payed to do. When Citizens try to do it for them we get turned away. Saying, “no space, just release them”!! Because there's no space in this ONE shelter that cannot handle all the influx of animals (from good Samaritans not actual animal control picking up strays) for th

DO NOT GET A DOG FROM HERE!! I was fostering to adopt this pittbull they said he was a very friendly dog and loved people and kids LIEE he tried to bite my neighbors kid and me and my wife in the face it got so bad we had to leave our home and call 911 they lied about him being nice and loving just to get him out of the shelter!!

We adopted our beautiful puppy here a week and a half ago. She was Chloe, now Gracie. Our experience was great. Everyone was kind, and they also make sure your pup is microchipped & spayed. Even her first vaccinations. There’s so many amazing dogs here who need homes. I am so glad we chose the shelter to adopt our Gracie girl. If you are looking for a new furry friend, PLEASE come here. 🙏🏻🐾

Rather it’s 6$ or 100$ when you trust a place to microchip your dog, you expect them to do it right. My dogs microchip was done here, and it was sticking out. I didn’t notice until I was all the way home. I was instructed to go back to get it redone, same day. What an inconvenience. Please check your dogs there before you drive off. A simple google search will tell you this is an issue and it wasn’t done correctly.
