City of lovelock animal shelter

The shelter is considerably good for how small it is, and the animals seem to be well cared for, but the staff attitudes differ significantly. I have gone in when both employees are by themselves to see how they run the shelter alone. Soledad often keeps the dog kennels unclean, with feces and urine present, and she also yells at the barking dogs which makes me question why she chose the employment if she can’t handle the environment. In contrast, Aaliyah ensures the dogs are clean and is firm without shouting. Both do their best, but it’s clear that only one truly enjoys being around the animals.

The ladies working here are 2 of the nicest people I have met since moving here. My dog had run off at the river and they came right out to help me find him. Can not thank them enough!

While my family has had positive and negative interactions with the shelter, I feel we have always been patiently treated with fairness. They took good care of our runaway dogs, and helped us solve that problem. We were introduced to a fine rescue animal, that has worked out very well for us. I have never seen the facilty in poor condition. The animals always appear to be properly cared for. I admire the dedication of the staff, along with an obvious love for the animals. This facility is top notch and well managed, in my opinion. I have never witnessed anything to the contrary.

This is a no kill facility with very compassionate and knowledgeable employees. It is clean and every animal is well cared for!

Charlie does an amazing job with this place and works miracles with all the critters, Luv her!
