City of Liberty Animal Shelter

Adopted a pit bull from them almost 11 years ago. And he was one of the best dogs I have ever had. We are so thankful for being able to take him home. The lady we talked to had told us a little about his story but not much. We know that he was rescued with the name stupid and they renamed him at the shelter to Cupid, which we also renamed him, Maximus. And he was known as max from that day forward. We recently lost our baby dog, due to medical issues we had no control over. To the lady who adopted him to us, we want to thank you, if you’re still there. He was well taken care of and lived the rest of his years spoiled completely rotten and had the best personality a dog could have. Has anyone seen or know about my reg service dog that was thrown out into the streets but clarian motel that first said she ran into the woods and the second story was that she was by a car and after she ran into the streets when Clarion motel threw her out and then they claimed that the manager called aspca that come got her ...2 different story's but 1 fact! Stays the same. I called the shelter ,I've walked asking people about her for days and hours ..never knew anything but the one fact that stays the same is ...Clarion motel threw my dog out when I called them from the back of a cop car begging them to only release my registered service dog i loved like my own child out in the streets. .cause I know my dog like my dog knows me... Ridiculous...many calls from myself an neighbors about a dog. Drove thru with a pick up truck , stated would be back with county truck..nothing!!! And hours 9am to 1 pm wth is that. Oh an wont answer the phone you have to leave a vm .

It really makes me sad to see all these negative comments because I know the truth of the way the animal control officers are overwhelmed and doing all they can to take care of these animals that people in the city and the county (and probably folks outside both) dump on them. You get angry with them, but they're not the problem. They're just trying to cope with the symptoms of the real problems. Please, if you want to have your energies more effectively spent and your words more purposefully used; petition to the city council to expand the budget(for more animal control officers added) for those of you in the city of Liberty. For those of you in the county, petition the county's sheriff to fund its own shelter, and for those of you outside the county please please please go to your own l

So I found out it’s not liberty county it’s only liberty town that they help I’m pregnant and I ask if they can get this dog I got off the road and they said no I can’t afford to help this dog I can’t even afford this kid probably they are no help
