Chateau Barkingham

Anyone wanting to put your dogs up here don’t do it as this owner claims to be a dog owner who showed dogs, but will ask question and make a decision on if the dog is welcome as she feels a dog shouldn’t bark, growl at all and before meeting the dogs to see how they act will reject you. I wouldn’t use someone like this as she feels she know all dogs and makes to make sure you dog doesn’t scare her. Also the home looks awful outside and all we hear is dogs barking all the time, but my dogs are not good enough so stay way from this place if you love your dogs she is a nasty person

Was informed by owner new dogs are not allowed to bark cause she will not accept them. Currently dogs have been barking for over 5 mins 8:43 in the morning. Think it’s time to contact township and police and spca on this person. She is a rude individual and her husband apparently abusive to the dogs as I have read other reviews

We boarded our 5 dogs there while we attended a local event. Sandy was wonderful to work with and was great to our dogs. We had concerned since 3 of our dogs has been mill breeders and we were reluctant to kennel them again. Chateau Barkingham has nice rooms for dogs, not cages. Dogs also have nice dog yards with shade. Sandy knew our concerned and sent us pictures of of our dogs enjoying the sunshine. It was very comforting. Not sure when we'll visit Gettysburg again but I wouldn't leave my dogs any place else.

This was the first time we had boarded our pup Mojo. The location is beautiful. The owner was willing to spend an hour with Mojo. She got down on the floor and played with him for a long time. The facilities are clean and impressive. She kept us updated on Mojo. We would definitely use her again and recommend the kennel to others.

I boarded my dogs there twice. First time all seemed to go well. Although the owner is rather short in hospitality and seemed overwhelmed at drop off and pick up, but not as much at initial visit. Her personal dogs do not behave well...bark a lot and jump at the door...really big dogs and she shows them professionally. The second time I picked up my girls from their stay she was extremely rude and said my one girl bite her husband...a first ever and I found it difficult to believe her husband. In speaking with a friend, I found out her husband accused my friend's dog of biting him too. Everyone that knows my friend's dog said he would not bite either...I am not sure what her husband is doing to make her think these dogs are biting him.
