Kim really gets to know the dogs and work with them in natural environment—not a building. She is amazing and calm with the anxious, scared biters and the willful dogs and the puppies learning how to dog. We tried other trainers that did well at first but dog behaviors became extreme and a trainer had the insight to know it was beyond her skills and referred us to Chasing the Wild. Despite our dog reacting strongly to her as a stranger, she said she could help. She was patient and calm with him and helped him gain confidence and become less reactive. I cannot say enough good things about Chasing the Wild and Kim, the lead trainer and owner. We found her when our rescue puppy was about seven months old. He'd been going to a highly-recommended dog training center and daycare for several days a week for months and was clearly frustrated, exhausted, and anxious. After trying to get help from a private trainer who recommended drugging him to calm him, out of basic desperation and on a leap of faith I reached out to Kim. Game changer! Kim appreciates that he is playful and rambunctious by nature and helps him learn to navigate in this world. She also helps us see how our own "stuff" is reflected in his behavior and how we can use that to work on ourselves. She's knowledgeable and always right there to answer questions and provide guidance. H

We are so grateful we found Kim! She has taught us so much about how dogs think and why they react the way they do. She helped us work through some resource guarding with our corgi and set new boundaries with him, which has completely changed his demeanor. He is much more calm and has transitioned to his new brother so well - I’m not sure he would have succeeded without Kim’s training!

I highly, highly recommend working with Kim. We have two dogs, Sophie the chocolate lab & Murphy the Anatolian/Pyrenees mix. Kim has given us so much knowledge and information and worked with our dogs so well. They are both making significant improvements on behaviors thanks to Kim. Sophie has struggled with anxiety for years and we finally have made progress on getting her more comfortable. We struggled to integrate Murphy into a suburban lifestyle and thanks to Kim we have limited Murphy’s barking and reactivity. We also LOVE the hike program and our dogs benefit so much from working with the pack. if you are looking for a trainer - the ONLY number you should call is Kim!
