Charles City Animal Shelter

A truly amazing shelter focused on the well-being of the animals! The staff are kind, passionate, hardworking, and knowledgeable about each individual dog & cat. The facility is clean, the area for play groups is enormous, and the animals receive exceptional care. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're interested in adopting or volunteering! They far exceed expectations, especially compared to other shelters who have more resources.

Awesome people! The Kennel Attendants care so much about each individual animal. The new attendants call back if you leave a voicemail. If you call after 1:00pm you probably won’t get a call back until the morning. If you call the shelter ALWAYS leave a voicemail!!!!

The volunteers and workers are extremely rude and disrespectful and without knowing anyones background information about anything judge people the wrong way and then have deputies personally harrass citizens of the us and their children and try to make their lives miserable. It is people like that that do not belong in an environment where special needs assistance animals are housed because they do not know the legal limits of certain rights!

Every time I call dispatch answers and they claim they are taking messages for someone to call back but no one does. The lady dispatch I talked to just now definitely doesn't care if the animals get homes or not.
