Dr. Cook is the most experienced and knowledgeable equine vet in the area. She and Dr. Smith are both very professional, knowledgeable and competent. I know that when my horses are under their care, I don't have to worry. Central Georgia Equine Services has a very competent staff on duty. The facility is absolutely gorgeous, clean, and the horses are well cared for. I highly recommend.

The staff have been called on multiple times for emergencies- farm calls, emergency clinic visits, and routine visits. Each time, the care has been phenomenal. When your horse has an injury or illness, it is extraordinarily stressful for all. Dr. Cook, Dr. Smith, and all the staff have been kind, professional, and are the absolute best at diagnosing, treating and caring for the horses and their people! Not only is the emergent care incredible, the docs follow up to make sure there are no set backs and they are always available for questions and reassurance. This is the best practice around!!

My 3 year old horse, Nugget, impaled his groin on a large stick. His injury was about a foot deep. We called Doctor Smith out and she came out and could put her whole arm inside his injury and still didn't reach the end. She packed the wound with sterile gauze and antibiotic ointment. She gave him shots, one antibiotic and a tetanus shot. Before that she flushed the wound out with saline solution. Dr. Smith was very professional and very nice and concerned for my horse. Dr. SMITH came out two more times and gave him more antibiotics and pain pills. I'm happy to report that Nugget has made a full recovery with the help of Dr Smith and prayers and faith. During the holiday season, I encountered concerns with my horse, suspecting the possibility of EPM.  He was (and still is) displaying neurological concerns as well as swelling hind right leg.  Central Georgia Equine Services was the only emergency provider I could reach. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The veterinarian did not conduct a thorough examination, citing the horse’s inability to stand still as the reason. Instead, she administered a temporary painkiller (ACE) and told me to bring my horse to their clinic tomorrow if he was still displaying the same behavior.  The veterinarian and vet tech then returned to their vehicle, displaying unprofessional behavior by laughing.
