Carter's Kennels

Carter's Kennels does a great job of taking care of dogs there. Kennels are well maintained all dogs are treated well. The training program they offer for dogs is top notch especially for any obedience and hunting dog training you would want your dog to have. Highly recommend them.

I took my English Springer Spaniel, Millie, to Jody. She was full of energy and young. I went out several times throughout the process and watched him interact with her. It was remarkable how quickly she learned obedience and retrieving commands (voice, whistle and hand commands). Jody is extremely patient with the dogs he trains, never getting mad when they are not doing what he wants. He was just as patient with me, correcting some of my mistakes while I worked Millie. Today, Millie is still very full of energy, but is very controllable due to the training Jody did. She knows when it's time to play and run around and when it's time to be serious and work. She is a retrieving machine. I highly recommend Jody if you are looking for a trainer.

We brought our Chocolate Lab Maggie to Jody for hunting and obedience training. He took great care of her and provided a lot of insight for me as well. He never seemed rushed when I visited and always made time on weekends. I enjoyed seeing Maggie progress into an obedient dog and for me to learn to continue training as well.

I dropped off my Labrador Retriever, Mako, with Jody when he was about 6 months old. Mako was not a traditional lab puppy as he showed little interest in retrieving and was not extremely energetic. During the first month of training I was blown away by the results that Jody produced with Mako, especially on the obedience side. Being from North Carolina, it was tough for me to visit and train with Mako during the week, Jody never hesitated at any point to give up his time during the weekend to help me train and get experience with running Mako. Jody was extremely patient with Mako, knowing that he needed to not only teach the dog what to do, but also boast Makos enthusiasm to retrieve. Jody at great. He has been boarding a friends dogs for a month now and brushing up their training as well. He is a real dog lover and an outstanding trainer of dogs too. I highly recommend him and Carter's Kennels for your pet boarding and training.
