To say that Dr. Wages is the absolute best veterinarian you could ever ask for is an understatement. When other vets told me my soul dog was just “prone to cancer,” and gave up immediately, Dr. Wages took us in that night and ran scans and made up a plan to keep her alive. She often called at 7 or later at night to update us on our sweet baby Lola’s test results. She stopped at nothing to save her life. Ultimately, we had another year and a half with her despite hemangiosarcoma because of Dr. Wages. She sat right on the floor with my sweet girl every time we came. Oberlin is about an hour from us, but our other baby has a lump, and I immediately called for Dr. Wages. I don’t trust anyone else. She is an angel. Truly!

Dr. Wages has been our veterinarian for the past 5 years. Freddie Lou our Yorkshire Terrier and Mailein a Coton de Tulear, belongs to our very dear friend have been under Dr. Wages care since they were 14 weeks. Both puppies had significant issues after purchase. Dr. Wages accurately diagnosed the problems immediately. Our Yorkie had Legg-Perthes Disease which is when the head of the thigh bone is deformed creating lameness. Dr. Wages scheduled our Yorkie for surgery immediately with a positive outcome! We haven’t thought about it again. Dr. Wages also diagnosed Mailein, Coton de Tulear, with poor hearing and a tilted head. Dr. Wages referred us to an expert neurologist in Durham where Mailein was treated successfully. Here we are five years later with two happy healthy dogs still under th

Wouldn’t dream of letting anyone else take care of my pups. They have been with us every step of the way thru well care, routine care, emergency visits, surgeries, chronic problems from the day they arrived to the day they crossed the rainbow bridge. They have loved all our pups, Jack, Blue, Salt, Sarge, Hank and Fin. They genuinely do everything they can to help keep your pets happy and healthy for the best life possible. Dr. Wages, Bianca and Val have gone above and beyond too many times to count.

I have taken my pet families to Care First Oberlin for 40+ years, in sickness, in health and with gentle support when the inevitable time comes to part. From front desk to clinical care, boarding and grooming, I trust that Care First understands that my guys are family and will be treated as they would their own. I have been fortunate to have benefitted from the experienced care of Dr. Joe Gordon and Dr. Page Wages for years. But I have seen no less commitment or expertise from other Vets who joined the practice. I recommend First Care without hesitation.

Highly recommend! We have been bringing our dog here since he was a puppy. We have utilized their preventative health programs and wellness check ups. The Care First at Oberlin staff & Drs are always so responsive to any questions or concerns I have had regarding my dog. Call or email - they are quick to reply and offer advice or schedule an appt for us. All are very friendly & show care for all animals that pass through their doors. I will continue to bring our dog here for all his needs. Thank you!
