Care Animal Hospital of Libertyville

This was my first visit to the doctor and my girl was very scared. I really liked the doctor and his assistant. They were very kind and gentle with my lizard. My little lizard hadn't eaten for almost two months and was constantly lying in the corner. At first, we thought she was hibernating, but it turned out otherwise. The doctor carefully examined the little lizard. She confirmed she was a girl, took an X-ray, and confirmed that she had growths and needed support. She prescribed special food for syringe feeding. Now, a couple of months have passed, and my little lizard has even started eating things she wouldn't eat before! My little girl has become active, curious, and happy 🫶🏼 And if the baby is happy, I'm happy! I'm so glad you helped me! Thank you so much!

I cannot say enough good things about the veterinary team and doctors. They fit my dog in on short notice and treated us like we were longtime clients. The vet techs were incredibly attentive- so gentle, so caring, and full of kisses for my pup while still remaining completely professional. The vet took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel truly heard. The entire experience was a breath of fresh air and reminded me what compassionate veterinary care should feel like. I’m beyond grateful for this amazing team. I’ll be returning.

The staff are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The health and wellbeing of my two cats is Care’s top priority and knowing that allows me to trust their recommendations/suggestions in making medical decisions. Their boarding facilities are excellent. The staff allowed my shy cats the time to adjust without adding to their stress. For the two weeks they were boarded I did not worry about their health or safety, there was no need to as I trust the staff completely. I have also highly recommended the medical practice and boarding facilities to others and will continue to do so.

Nice looking facility, but the office staff have never felt inviting, warm, or kind. I know not to take it personally. My primary warning about this place is that they prescribed the most expensive preventatives for my dog without discussing (they never asked what we used). My canine (with no heath issues) Annual Exam with preventatives cost +$700. I asked for an itemized receipt and the receptionist said I would get it after I paid (not friendly). I felt belittled, so I paid it. Once I did review my requested reciept, I called CARE back before opening and using only to find out no refunds per FDA regulations (real convenient for CARE). ** Be CAREful with this place **. Other experiences here have also been below average.

The vet care is okay. I felt rushed with wellness visits and the waiting is a bit long then expected. The boarding was the worse. I asked for my dog to be bathed before I picked her up from boarding. When she was brought out, I noted she was matted on her underside and her legs; she looked worst then before I dropped her off. They said she spilled some water, but can’t see why she was dry and matted. In addition, when I got home I discovered an open raw sore on her leg. When I called to report it, they did not know she had it. This makes me wonder how well or poorly they have been treating/caring her during her stay.
