It’s very funny seeing 2 other people complain about their lack of responsiveness. I have been trying to inquire about a dog for about a month now. They even let us have a meet and greet, and told me to send a follow up email if I was still interested. I sent the email promptly the next day. Never heard back. Sent another email a few days later just in case it got lost in a sea of other messages— I know they get busy. But when I never heard back, I called the number attached to each email from the director (back when we were actually corresponding). She answered, but said it had been a very busy time for them, and that she wasn’t gonna leave me hanging. I said no worries, I understand. We’re now a week away from the date the dog is supposed to be available to adopt, and they left me in lim
Not very responsive took days just to get responses back to schedule a meet and greet then not very professional from the meet and greet (finally scheduled and owner forgot about it in the same week causing us to have to wait for her to arrive). Then, the owner asked us for days to schedule home visit and then just doesn’t respond back at all, which just regardless of the situation is not professional. They do just basic command training with the dogs, but feel like if certain dogs are having behavioral issues like guarding/biting that should also be a training focus before even allowing meets since they keep them through a whole “training” period. Just wasn’t a good overall impression of the org itself. Do believe in dog adoption but had a way better experience elsewhere.
Best Organization EVER! My daughter adopted Mariah back in 2019. We never knew that our lives were incomplete until Mariah arrived and now we can’t imagine life without her. Mariah is beautiful, smart and loves to be loved. 🐶🐾❤️ Bless all of you at Canine Cellmates for giving so many beautiful dogs a second chance !
Not responsive. Do they even want their dogs to be adopted? Just going to look somewhere else.
I used to volunteer here 13 yrs ago when it was Atlanta Pet Rescue Center! Started after work at 6-9 and moved to Saturdays assisting in the front office and pet kennels. Loved it! This would be a great place for the animals and cellmates to get together! So glad Georgia is doing this for its incarcerated people. Pit bills and parolees is another organization that is doing well in Louisiana. Tune in to their show on Animal planet.
