Dr John knows is stuff and completely committed to the care of each animal- I think he keeps prices as low as possible to make sure people actually DO bring in their pets when they need checkups/help/advice. This guy isn’t in it for the $$- Thank you Dr Ober for all you do! Also- the entire office treated me very gently when I had to deal with the passing my sweet Stella and gave me as much time as I needed- they all made a hard situation just a little easier to deal with and I will always be grateful for that!!!

Candor vet will always see your animal in an emergency whether it’s during office hours or the weekend. Dr. Ober does not tell you to go to Cornell like most vets. His staff is kind and efficient.

Dr John took in my American bulldog emergency surgery without question. Don’t expect a “frilly” experience, but frills isn’t what I am after - I am after a good vet that can take care of my fur baby. My dog is on the mend and will be back to herself in no-time. After care treatment was documented and much more affordable than many of the vet hospitals that so many people are referred to.

Dr. Ober isn't the most conventional practitioner at times but he is the absolute best. Without a doubt his no BS approach to animal medicine is refreshing. If you value a vet that will tell you all the options, good bad and otherwise and not just always assume you want to or can spend an absolute fortune he is ideal. He marries practical care with responsible ownership practices and top care and treatment. He puts the animals first everytime. He saved my Hunt Terrier with an emergency surgery and listened to my concerns without dismissing me, and found a foreign body in her GI tract on surgery. He easily saved her life that day, his post op was efficient and she is recovering well and happily at home. I will always recommend him as the first vet I would go to for small animals.

We are incredibly grateful to the team—and especially to Jenny, who was truly on top of everything—for being so kind and accommodating. Even on an extremely busy day, when no one else could assist, they took on the task of preparing the health certificates for our pets with patience and care. Thank you for helping our furbabies—we truly appreciate it and wish you all the very best.
