Calhoun County Animal Center

I've adopted two dogs from the shelter. Both wonderful companions and welcome additions to our family. The staff are so caring and friendly. It's obvious they truly care about the welfare of animals. If I ever win the lottery, the shelter would be at the top of my list. They do so much good with so little.

They're a non-profit that relies on donations and volunteers to care for, and place, these sweet animals into loving homes. They try, they honestly care and try to rehome them

Never available to help. Cat rescue is not available. Renters in Battle Creek leave behind cats and there’s no where to take them. My brother is on his 2nd litter from a cat and he can’t find help. Rescues take the kittens but not the momma cat. She’s a specialty munchkin, super cute, super friendly, but only kittens are desirable. Tried to get her spayed and vet cancelled the appt now she’s prego again. Been calling FOR MONTHS. No replies, nothing but crickets. Story on the TV news says they rescue cats and not true. My disabled brothers have 2 cats that they own. They now have the momma cat, 5 kittens in a back room and now 2 male cats outdoors that are abandoned cats, yes, even the males want inside. Volunteered a few years ago and I was Impressed with the staff although some did not know what they were doing. I adopted a beautiful cat and a fantastic puppy which both passed a few years ago, which are very missed.

Such sweet and loving animals that need your love. The guy who runs the place is awesome and truly puts the animals first. They definitely need everyone to pitch in and help them out with donations and help walking/playing with the animals.
