I live in Medford (!) and drive all the way to Lawrence just to bring my dogs to Bulger Vet, so that should say a lot already. We've also had to take our dog to the hospital in Woburn and both locations have always been next level service and care. I never hesitate to leave my dog in their care. Every single vet with whom we have met has been kind, compassionate, HONEST, professional, knowledgeable, you name it. What I most appreciate is the consistency in how they care for animals. Also, huge shout out to Ally and the rest of the front desk crew at Bulger in Lawrence. AMAZING. Ally went above and beyond, and made sure that we were cared for, from start to finish. This happens every time we go there. If you're thinking about bringing your pet to this location, do not hesitate. Above all, i
I have been going to Bulger with my current dog since I adopted him nearly 5 years ago. We have used the general practice, emergency services and dental care. I can only say wonderful things about the care my goofy goldendoodle has received. Also my previous pup was treated in this facility for 11 of his 13 years. Same experience with him
Our regular vet found a large mass on Teddy's lungs on an x-ray. After trying to get an appointment at several local veterinary hospitals, our vet was able to get us into Bulger with Dr. Blaeser. From our initial appointment, Dr. Blaeser patiently and clearly explained the next steps and our options. It's obviously a stressful and scary situation that we didn't want our dog to be facing. We proceeded with surgery and could not be more grateful and more impressed with the care Teddy received. We received frequent communication after the surgery and during the 2 nights Teddy stayed at Bulger. Every single doctor on duty was amazing and kept us informed. It was obvious that they truly care for their patients. Unfortunately, the biopsy came back as an aggressive cancer so we have a long roa
From the moment I walked in I was greeted promptly, checked in, and my pet was weighed. We waited just a short time before being brought into the room. The room was clean, free from fur and smell from any previous animals. I previously have brought my 2 cats here but we just got an 8 week old puppy Lucy. The person who brought us to our room was very friendly and helpful. He asked questions about the puppy’s general health, any prior shots, and went to speak with the vet. Michael Hornburger came in. He was very friendly greeting us with a smile and a handshake. Said hi to our sleepy puppy. He checked over the puppy. He was so helpful with questions I had for him, ideas on training, shots that the puppy needed. There was a short weigh before they came back to administer the shot which they
I have always been impressed with how the staff works as a team. As a client, you are greeted (and not with the tone that you're "bothering" them. I was first referred to them by my regular vet when a CBC showed signs of severe liver issues. Five months earlier all tests were normal. That same day, I drove up and was very nervous about what was happening. What choices, diagnoses and outcome were all questions going through my mind. The staff was very kind. My vet had called ahead and sent all medical records, including xrays from that morning. That helped in getting seen on an emergent basis. Ultimately he was tested again, had an ultrasound, additional xrays and found a slight gallbladder stone, but could not explain the liver counts. He went on and will be for life, a gallbladder and
