I couldn’t be happier with Hunter and Buck Country Retrievers. Fair pricing, super nice people, and a great result. Definitely give them a call if you need any dog training! Hunter does great work. He was able to fit my dog, River, in on short notice. I had tried doing bird and gun training myself, but when she was a bit nervous around a .22 at a distance I decided I needed help before I made things worse. So I had Hunter do his two week bird and gun introduction course with her. Hunter not only helped her get over any gun shyness, he got her extremely exited about birds. He was very transparent about the process, and sent a couple of updates on how she was doing when she was there. The weekend after I picked her up, I took her for a walk for some pheasants just to see how she would do,

We’d HIGHLY recommend Buck Country Retrievers to anyone looking for a dog trainer! We couldn’t be happier with the results! Our lab came home finished and solid in his obedience and field training. This experience has set us up to enjoy a lifetime of memories with our sweet little bird dog! Hunter is extremely knowledgeable, patient, down to earth, flexible, communicative, and easy to work with. We felt very comfortable leaving our boy with Hunter and Courtney and could feel that they truly cared about his overall well being. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the future!

Hunter is the absolute best! We’ve sent our first dog to him for boarding for the past few years, so, when we got a puppy, we knew we’d be sending her to him for training. Both dogs love him so much! He takes great care of them while they’re at the kennel, and our puppy came home a brand new dog! If you’re looking for a place to send your pups while on vacation or wanting a fantastic hunting dog, I couldn’t recommend Buck Country more! We will be bringing all of our dogs to Hunter from here on out.

We recently had our dog trained at Buck Country Retrievers and couldn’t be happier! We are so thankful Hunter and Courtney trained our lab Brandy. Hunter took the time to get to know her personality and figured out the best way to train her. He pays very close attention to detail and figures out what your dog needs to improve on and works hard to perfect it. Along the way he showed us the different ways he taught her different skills. When we picked her up she was a completely different dog. She was so happy to get out in the field and shoot some birds. She was patient, obedient, and a very bird driven dog. Hunter definitely became one of her favorite people while there! He's a great guy who truly loves what he does and loves the dogs. We could not recommend Buck country retrievers enough

I would highly recommend Buck Country Retrievers, for a puppy and training! We got Bear, from EZ and Hanks litter. Hunter and Courtney were so nice, and made the whole process so easy. We reached out to them about training, I want to say around early July. Hunter asked us what we want Bear to be trained for. They offer pretty much all types of hunting training but at this time Bear has only done training for upland bird. Hunter was able to get Bear in right away which was awesome because we got him back in time for the fall hunting season! We also were able to go and pick him up a few times throughout the training, which was great because we got to work with him one on one at our home while also spending time with him.
