Breckinridge County Animal Shelter

I can’t believe I’ve never done a review for this animal shelter! We’ve gotten 2 dogs from there… Daisy (tan one)was our first and we’ve had her 4 years now… Atticus is the black and tan and we’ve had him 2 years… they’re both just the best dogs ever! The Great Pyrenees isn’t from the shelter… We have a homestead with chickens, guineas, geese, ducks, turkeys and sheep and they are great protectors… they’ve definitely earned their keep! The staff is wonderful and helpful!

Have to give more information than buying a house. Buy from a breeder instead, too many free animals out there.

Neighbors dog, a pit mix, climbed my gate, ran up behind me and bit me in the calf of my leg. Called the Sheriff's office, sheriff called animal control then called me back stating someone from Animal Control would call me. Not one call! Worst part is that dog is part of a pack allowed to run loose when the neighbor is home & this irresponsible inconsiderate person keeps adding more and bigger dogs. Maybe when someones child is killed this lazy so called animal control officer will care.
