Box Elder Vet Clinic

Today 08/07/2025 Box Elder Vet Clinic was the only vet in the surrounding area welling to get our Callie girl in and checked out pretty quickly, it was the first time taking our Callie girl to their clinic, and what turned out to be an emotional roller coaster finding out our Callie girl needing an emergency hysterectomy to Box Elder Vet Clinic saving our Callie girl’s life, and we are beyond grateful for them! The staff at the clinic was exceptional very nice, helpful, understanding, and wanted the best treatment for our Callie girl. They handled Callie with love and care they are absolutely amazing! My family and I highly recommend them we will continue to go to them we are beyond impressed with our first visit and the care and treatment our Callie girl received today! Thank you Box Elde

We have been taking our Husky and German Sheppard to this clinic for a while now. They are always friendly, well priced, and easy to work with. They recently really "shined" when we had the worst day possible as a pet parent. End of life is never comfortable for anyone, but the compassion and dignity in which they treated us and our loved one cannot be overstated. We chose cremation with ash return, and they were once again extremely compassionate and humble when returning the remains. I cannot tell you what that means to a grieving pet owner. Thank you so much to the team at Box Elder Vet Clinic, we will not go anywhere else.

This will be the last time I bring my dogs to this clinic. On both visits, the veterinarian did not introduce himself or greet me, so I do not even know his name. I have never experienced this with any veterinarian I’ve used in Texas, Florida, or at Animal Clinic of Rapid City. His behavior felt dismissive and unprofessional, and he was uncomfortable answering simple questions about my dog’s care. During today’s visit, I was initially charged $70 for a same-day appointment instead of the usual $30. While I typically do not request an itemized breakdown, due to the veterinarian’s rude response when I asked about my dog’s medications, I felt it was necessary to review the charges. We love this vet! Affordable, knowledgeable, honest, and great with our pets. We are so happy to have found this vet! Through blown ACL’s, busted nails, allergies, ear infections, typical shot visits, and even having to put our old cat down, this vet had helped us through it all. They gave us honest and affordable options to the best of their ability. If you are looking for bubbly, this might not be your vet. But if you are fine with a vet who is to the point and ready to solve and help heal your pet, this is it.

Went in Wednesday morning at 8:03 a.m. because my 8 year old dog that I’ve had since she was 7 weeks old was throwing up black slime and not eating. The vet was standing at the counter when I explained what was going on. He said “I have surgeries, an anxious dog and a full schedule” and walked away…the receptionist looked at me and said “uhh, yeah. So maybe try the emergency clinic on elk vale…” my dog died. Thanks guys. Yall are awesome.
