Boston Animal Care and Control Shelter

This review is long overdue. We adopted our Beni nearly two years ago now and this has been on my to do list since then. Robyn (forgive the spelling if I'm off as it's been a bit) was fantastic. She got in touch right off the bat and encouraged us to come sooner rather than later as she had a hunch Beni would be quick to go. He's transformed our lives, as I'm sure countless other animals have for God knows how many people. We found ourselves previously filling out form after form with well-intentioned but frankly frustrating rescue organizations. If you're an animal person, look no further, this is an opportunity for you to find a great pet while not wondering what it takes it adopt an animal. Cheers again to Robyn and the entire staff, we hope to be return adopters in the not too long fut

The staff is so kind and accommodating. They opened 2 hours early just to help return dogs to owners that were brought in during a local incident. They didn’t have to do that but they did. Thank you. Sincerely.

Good wheelchair access once you get through the heavy gate. Lovely folks, we pick up foster dogs from them fairly regularly.

My pup recently escaped the yard, was picked up by a good neighbor, and dropped at the shelter for his safety. The staff at Boston Animal Shelter in Roslindale were caring, professional, and efficient in getting us our updated license and back home. Thank you.

We adopted a dog in February and couldn't be happier with the process. The pound responded promptly to our inquiry and invited us to see the dog the following morning. When we arrived, we met our doggo and were allowed to take him home. The pound gave him all the necessary shots and neutered him which was great. We love our dog and are so happy to adopt here in Boston and not a puppy mill dog from the south. We are thinking about adopting another dog or a cat from this place.
