Boone County Animal Services

A few weeks ago a friend with a medical condition got into an accident on I-90. The State Police contacted Boone Cnty Animal Services to take control of her dog (Graceie) who isn't always friendly to strangers, because my friend went to the hospital. There is a long story here but, due to my friend not being able to communicate, we were notified about Gracie. We tracked her down to BCAS. We were correctly made to jump through some hoops to prove we were authorized to inquire and eventually take control of Gracie. BCAS did a wonderful job with a difficult dog. They took her to an emergency Vet for evaluation and treatment for minor injury. They then fed, walked and sheltered her until we were able to get her. We have been in many animal rescues and shelters, but what we experienced at Boone

Rick Borrett the director was very disrespectful and cruel to my dog. Installed a micro chip wrong and caused many problems. This man should not be in charge of anything.

The most caring, compassionate Animal Services! 5 star all the way!! They love and care about their community and all animals! I cannot recommend them highly enough ❤️🙏

If I could I’d give this place and their staff ZERO stars. They are so ignorant and have no sympathy for anyone. My infant daughter was bit In her head and they didn’t even care. All they cared about was their money. I wanted to confirm with them that the dog will be euthanized and not adopted out since I’d hate for this to happen to anyone especially any other child. DO NOT GO HERE.

I adopted Remi from here. I went through the adoption process. He met my other dogs and I was able to adopt him. He's the BEST dog!! Thank you Boone county animal services for helping me through the process!!
