Bonham Animal Shelter

I adopted this guy officially not to long ago,less than a year. Great people ,just talk to them they will help you. I'm not sure if the lady officer would ever read this but she really made me feel better and helped me with my task at hand for the day. Rip Buddy

Hello everyone, Today we travelled 30 minutes out of our way to take a stray dog we’ve had for two weeks to this animal shelter. We attempted to take care of him but he has medical issues that we are not properly equipped to handle. Several days ago I called this animal shelter explaining the situation and that all the shelters in my area were full and couldn’t help this poor dog. The person on the phone told me to bring the dog in on the Friday I was off work and they could take him. Now for reference here, I am not complaining about the lack of space, or the fact that they couldn’t take him after 30 minutes in a car with an dog who did not want to be there even when they insured me they could. Hi, I would like to focus on the positives of this shelter but I do have 1 slight negative. I am new to Bonham area a DV situation my child & I are in sent us here. Before moving here I was told that for AA there are still ppl rooted in racism I didn't want to leave an unsafe situation to be placed into a different unsafe situation so I did have a bad taste for Bonham because I was scared. But I digress, 5-6 days ago a man dropped off 5 4 month old 1/2 Chiweenie and Lab pups 1 neighbor got 1 for her son but it ran away the next day my dog was spooked by a different neighbor and it ran away they were both seen in a neighboring cow pasture it took 36 hrs to catch them but I got them and their brother. I kept 1 but the other 2 i tried to find them GOOD SAFE homes so I posted them online. Duri

They need our support! If you've ever lost a Pet, you know how important it is to have a place where you can, hopefully, find your fur baby! Also, it is a Blessing to have a place to take a wandering pet, especially if you have pets of your own at home and can't mix the stray in with yours, until you, again hopefully find it's home or a new home. And when you are looking for a Pet, it's a True Act of Kindness, to go to your Local Animal Shelter and give a lost or abandoned animal a good home.

The best of experiences. The staff was wholly committed to the care and repatriation of our Beagle girl, who we had placed with someone we thought we trusted. Through the entire process, the staff was courteous and kind. Wonderful hearts! Sincerely, Kim and Dennis
