What a clean facility with the best people taking care of these animals. You can tell a lot of love goes into the daily care of each and every fur baby in their care. This was our 1st adoption at blue water and it was a very pleasant one. I'm happy to be able to provide a happy loving forever home for my cat. She fits right in with the rest of the crew. Thank you Blue Water for what you do each day. Truly grateful for my new fur baby 💕

Firstly, do not state that your agency is a no kill agency. That is a lie. If animals are left outside in weather that reaches 0 or below with subzero wind chills, animals will become frostbitten and will die a slow and painful death. How is refusing to accept animals, especially baby kittens, a no kill shelter? Those who work in shelters and so-called rescues must know that animals left outside in extreme polar vortex weather will die. “No kill shelters” is simply a statement that denies the truth. I have contacted the Blue Water Humane Society on Lapeer Road twice once in summer and just recently, and both times I was informed that they could not take in kittens because they were full. If the shelter or rescue is always full, either they do not have anyone taking a cat or kitten h

We adopted both our fur babies from the Human Society. The first in 2009 and the 2nd in 2023. The process simply could not have gone smoother. Both times they allowed us some bonding time to make sure we were a good fit. They kept our first girl an extra night so they could give her the appropriate shots before we took her home. We had a delightful 10.5 years with her and knew we wouldn't go anywhere else when we were ready. Summer 2023 we adopted Gus (FKA Weasley). Staff always goes above and beyond.

The staff were amazing and very friendly! They were also knowledgeable on how to get the dog I had and who we were adopting together! We are happy we found another furry baby as part of our family!

Got our beagle, Linus, from BWAHS in early 2011. Still tail waggin' happy and absolutely loved and spoiled. We take our good condition, household items to them as donations so they may raise money to help animals all over the Bluewater area. It is a sincere joy to help those who have given so much to help complete our family and so many other families around. Consider donating goods or money to help. Thanks.
