Useless organization that refuses to remove stray dogs from the street. They blame the Commissioners for not being able to "do their jobs." They always have an excuse for why they won't pick up stray dogs. This organization, just like the state, is a joke.

Picked up Rocko today...named him Tater Why? Because I love Tater Tots & we love him & he is already loving us. Unfortunately he was sick when we picked him up & he is under our vets care. Pleaseif you get a shelter animal have him assessed by a Vet ASAP.💖

It’s important to understand that this is an animal shelter and most are underfunded and understaffed. A lot of the staff here are volunteers. With that being said, the conditions are not always the best at a lot of shelters. However, in my experience with our dog getting spayed, it was successful and she healed properly. There weren’t any issues at all. The process is straightforward, you fill out an electronic form with all of your pets information and they message you back with availability and instructions. Service is pretty informal and quick (the day of) considering that they do this every Wednesday free of charge. I donated food for the shelter, for the services. Overall, the experience was good.

Won't even answer there phone. Been trying for weeks to get two puppies in off the street what's the point of having a shelter if y'all don't accept dogs? I'm at a loss for words. Every shelter in San Antonio is trash

I got my stray cats spayed, vaccinated, and chipped there (trap and release program). Their communication wasn’t great. It took a long time to get an appointment scheduled. Once I finally got them scheduled and took them there the place smelled strongly of urine, but I know they’re a shelter and they take in a lot of animals so I guess I understand. But their whole setup was just not great. When I left my cats there they just placed them on a shelf outside and the guy told me (let me find a place away from the dogs) so he literally cleared the shelf and put a curtain over them. The entire time I was stressing because if they were to somehow break free from their crates they’d be gone since they were placed outside. Luckily that didn’t happen. I will say the spay process seems great so far
