Basin Run Animal Hospital

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Basin Run Animal Hospital. My first experience with them came during one of the hardest moments of my life — the sudden loss of my beloved cat, Doobie. I wasn’t even a patient there at the time, but they didn’t hesitate to welcome me in during my time of need. Mary was incredibly compassionate and made me feel truly seen and cared for during such a painful time. Her kindness meant the world to me. To my surprise, shortly after, I received flowers and a beautiful sympathy card from them — a gesture that touched me deeply and showed just how much they care. My wife and I were very concerned about our sweet guinea pig, Gandalf. He is an older boy and has started to show signs of his age. He is our first piggy so we didn't know what was happening. Everyone we met with was so kind and understanding. I love that everything was explained to us so we could understand too. They also calmed our fears by assuring us that pigs don't live to be 8 without being well loved. I also really appreciated that the vet called a few days later to check in on Gandalf and see if we had any new questions. We will definitely bring our boy as well as his two cat sisters (and any other fur babies in the future) to Basin Run if we need anything.

I have never actually been to this vet but I called in a panic looking for someone to see my axolotl. They said they had seen them before and booked me an appointment for the next day. However, maybe 10 mins later the lady at the front desk (I think Tanya) called me back and said she had spoken to Dr. Denver and they had found a vet who was closer to me and was an axolotl specialist. They knew that I was coming from Annapolis and thought that might be better for me and my axolotl. They had already called and checked that this other vet had an appointment available the next day for me. I was so blown away by the kindness of this and the obvious care for my pet, as they could have seen her even though they were not experts just to make the money. We’ve only had positive experiences at Basin Run. They’re loving and attentive to our dog and really want what’s best for him. They are efficient and flexible with appointments and always seem to be willing and ready to help. Would highly redommmd.

The couple times we have been there we felt like we were friends with the staff. We were spoken to and taken care of so sweetly and quickly. We could tell the way they handled our cat Granola that they cared and loved him even if they didn’t know him well. We were turned away from other animal hospitals who wouldn’t listen to us and shrugged off our concerns and when we called here they were able to get us in and help almost immediately and found the issue (potentially life threatening as he had swallowed a magnet!) and helped us take care of it. Love this place so much and could not recommend more.
