Barks & Co. Blowing Rock

I'll preface this with the fact that my dog and I travel everywhere together and with that requires significant planning of pet-friendly shops, attractions, etc. My dog and I visit the Blowing Rock and Boone area frequently, and this time I planned a trip to downtown BR with multiple shops in mind. I saw Barks & Co online and was excited to take him there, as we frequently shop in locally-owned boutique pet stores during our travels. Per their site and social media, Barks & Co sells all of the brands we frequently purchase. I had also seen all the photos of dogs enjoying pup cups, a favorite of my boy's, so this was immediately put to the top of our list of places to visit while downtown. We arrived in downtown BR that morning to find the sign on the store door showed they would be opening

We were just strolling the street with our two Boston Terriers when Rosie suddenly sniffed out destiny, also known as the scent of pupcups. Naturally, we followed her nose straight into this adorable pet boutique, where we were greeted by the sweetest human ever, fully prepared to shower Rosie and Murphy with treats and attention. Murphy, who had been acting all “I’m too tired for life,” came fully back online the moment toys entered the chat. He proudly picked out his own “whrrrop urrrrppp” squeaky masterpiece, trotted it up to the register like he was paying rent, and the second it was snipped free from the packaging, boom, he was off. Full zoomies, chest out, toy in mouth, sprinting back to the truck like he just won the Boston Marathon. Rosie and I couldn’t even keep up. He now carries

Great customer service. Our dog remembered that she got a pup cup here and when we would walk by in the evening and they were closed, she wanted to cross the street and look inside the door two nights in a row. Will definitely check it out again before we leave blowing rock!!

This store has incredible customer service! We made a purchase for our pup that didn't end up fitting him, so we needed to exchange from out of town. The owner looked up our receipt, sent us photos of other products to switch out, and shipped the exchange at minimal cost. She even threw in dog treats with the new item! The store went above and beyond to help us, and we will definitely be shopping there on our next trip to Blowing Rock!

Overpriced items sold to unsuspecting customers using underhanded tactics, such as lying to customers about origin and quality of products. Not worth your time or money.
