Barking Up the Right Tree

I would give zero stars if I could. Nicole has been incredibly unprofessional when it comes to coordinating care for our chihuahua, Bob. On multiple occasions, the sitter she assigned showed up over an hour late with no heads-up. When I brought this up, all Nicole said was that the sitter “had a lot going on,” as if that excused the lack of reliability. To make matters worse, when I expressed concern, Nicole told us that if we weren’t okay with their sitter, we should look elsewhere. That level of disregard for our concerns and our pet’s well-being was shocking. There was no accountability, no real apology, and no effort to make things right. I would absolutely not trust this company again.

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH BURT WAS A NIGHTMARE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM & WOULD NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN. We hired Barking Up the Right Tree for the first time in a 5-day, 5-night pet-sitting engagement for our two dogs, agreeing to 5 walks and 5 overnight stays with a female sitter (our dogs tend to prefer women) and a military discount. During this time, we experienced 3 issues, all of which we brought to their attention: 1. The first pet sitter brought her fiancé along without our knowledge or permission, which we caught on our doorbell. The excuse was that he was experiencing “a distressing personal situation.” This is not only extremely unprofessional; it’s a liability. We let it go & asked that it not happen again. 2. My husband and I recently planned a vacation and at the last minute our sitter canceled. A friend recommended BURT and they were able to send us a terrific sitter. They were very professional and left our place even better than the way we left it! They were very quick to respond and that is very important o me when it comes to my fur kids. If you get tired of piecing together pet care and don’t want to board your babies, BURT is wonderful.

I can’t over emphasize the importance of being able to trust the people you ask to watch over your pets and home while you are away. That’s why I am so appreciative of BURT and their sitters. They are reliable, responsive and they really do enjoy helping people care for their pets. I have three large dogs and have relied on BURT for years to care for them while I am out of town. They’re great!
