It’s a SCAM you better run , I came in for the "free consultation," but nothing is free it's just a trap. My dog had a very obvious urethral prolapse. Instead of being upfront and telling me I needed a specialist, they ran pointless tests and pressured me into their wellness plan. Without it, they said I'd owe $1,800+; with it, the bill dropped to about $370-$380. Now I'm locked in a 12-month contract I can't afford, and my dog STILL needs surgery that will cost $1,500-$3,000. This wellness plan does not cover you for emergency , surgeries and if your dog dies, you will still be stuck with the payment ! And make sure you read the fine print. According to them, this is what the wellness plan "covers" . It looks good on paper, but in reality, it's a trap that doesn't fix the problem your pe
I took our dog to Banfield for what they call a “free consultation,” but it was nothing more than a trap. Our dog had a very obvious urethral prolapse, yet instead of addressing the problem or referring us to a specialist, they ran pointless tests and pressured her into signing up for a year-long wellness plan. Without the plan, they told her the bill would be over $1,800. With the plan, it dropped to about $370–$380 — but now she’s locked into a 12-month contract that doesn’t even cover the surgery our dog needs. That surgery will cost another $1,500–$3,000 out of pocket. To make matters worse, when she asked about canceling, she was told she’d still owe $1,100. It’s heartbreaking to watch my wife go through this while our dog is suffering. Banfield took advantage of her in a vulnerable
Banfield Pet Hospital has an outstanding team. From the front desk to the veterinarians, everyone is incredibly professional and caring. They always take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure my pet feels comfortable and well cared for. The staff’s dedication and personalized attention make each visit special. I’m grateful for the exceptional service and trust them completely with my pet’s care. Thank you, Banfield!
I want to be clear I'm not upset with the doctor or the staff personally. What upset me was the situation I was put in. When I brought my dog to the PetSmart/Banfield clinic, the whole visit felt unsettling. My dog, who is normally calm, was aggressive and barking during the appointment. Looking back, I feel like he was sensing something wasn't right. In that moment I was vulnerable and desperate for help, and I was pressured into signing a 12-month wellness plan. At the time it felt like the only way to make sure my dog got treated. Later, I realized the plan doesn't even cover emergency surgeries it's mainly for routine things like vaccines and basic tests. The way this plan is presented in urgent situations feels predatory, especially toward families who are already stressed and just tryi
People here are very nice. However, the whole system is very disorganized. When we initially came in, the receptionist told us one thing. Then the nurse called an hour later told us something else. And when we picked him up, we were given a paper chart that explained something entirely different. I'm sure they took good care of our Simba. But it just made the whole process seem less trustworthy.
