First exotic vet I went to when I got my guinea pigs a couple of years ago. Now that I’m more experienced and been to a lot more other exotic vets, this was low on my exotic vet rank in terms of overall experience. Definitely a trusted place if you need it for an emergency visit for your pets, but if I have other choices I’ll rather pick somewhere else. The doctor is amazing and lovely, it’s just some of the staff seemed to be rude and that’s the reason I never went back.

Best avian and exotic vet in the Philly area! The staff is super nice. The doctor has been doing it for 30 years and is trained from UPenn. Unlike other exotic vets, Dr. Goodman doesn't charge an outrage amount. They keep everything a reasonable price and really care about the patient. They also don't over prescribe medication or tests. I love a doctor who wants minimal intervention. My rabbit is happy and healthy as a result!

Overall this place is an easy recommendation. They were extremely kind to us when we scheduled an appointment, treated our sick hamster well, and had a great bedside manner. The price is also close to other vets I’ve been to so that seems fair and is another plus. As a few pro tips when visiting there is one way parking behind the building. Due to COVID after you arrive call them to check in then they’ll tell you when to bring your pet to the door closest to the parking area. After handing off your pet at the door you can then wait in your car while the vet checks them out. They’ll then call you to discuss everything, to take payment over the phone, and everything else you’d typically experience at the vet so it’s basically a digital vet appointment. It’s a great idea that works very well

I brought my bunny here for facial swelling. She was diagnosed with an inner ear infection and had her teeth drilled down. She was put on several medications. After I left they called and said they forgot to bill me for her fecal sample. My bunny seemed to be improving until suddenly I found her dead. When I called to tell the vet, the receptionist Linda said she was sorry to hear it and without even taking a breath said I had an outstanding balance for the amount they forgot to bill me and could I clear it with her now over the phone. I was livid and luckily didn’t say what I truly wanted to say. She couldn’t have displayed any more rudeness or lacked any more empathy. My poor baby must have been misdiagnosed and I’m upset because I feel I failed her by going here.

Dr. Goodman helped my husband and I with our hamster, Leela. We only had her for about a month and she started to get big in her midsection with severe behavior changes. Soon enough we realized we most likely wouldn’t have enough time with her, but still, we took her to see Dr. Goodman as an emergency vet visit. After calling 8 different veterinarian places…Dr. Goodman fit us in that same day thankfully! She gave us plenty of helpful hamster care tips and as well as her truthful opinion on Leela’s health. We held out hope, but she did inform us it was very likely that Leela didn’t have much time. Later that day our Leela did pass away. We received a card in the mail last week from Dr. Goodman regarding our little hammie who passed. She also called us back the next day after we informed her
