Austin Veterinary Animal Hospital

This is one office that I can genuinely say they care about each and every patient they see. I travel from New Bern for my pets to receive care from Austin Vet. Dr. Ross and Reba (truthfully, the entire staff) went above and beyond to try and save my sweet Lila. They utilize technology and discuss cases with each other to try and find the best solutions possible. They gave me more time with Lila, even when others told me to say my goodbyes. When Lila's time eventually came, Dr. Ross and Reba were there with us the entire time, even laying down beside us and giving her extra love in her final moments. I will always have the utmost respect and gratitude for them and recommend any and everyone to see them! From the bottom of my heart, thank you Austin Vet.

Horrible experience. After losing our pet after 17 years we decided we were ready to adopt. We found a pet and applied. We were put in touch with the foster parent. We asked a lot if questions because we had not done this before. The foster parent informed us that upon meeting the pet we would ve able to take him home on a trial basis and if it works we could do the necessary paperwork and keep him. My husband and son were over the moon!! The night before the meeting I TEXTED TO VERIFY. The foster parent did not reach out to let us know that this changed. When I verified THE NIGHT BEFORE the meeting I was informed I needed to bring my other dog and that the pet had another appointment after us and we would have to wait on a decision. I'm a bit bewildered that as a current customer, I called seeking advice about my dog eating some wax and whether that warranted bringing her in to be looked at. The employee who answered the phone referred me to an animal poison hotline to determine if I should bring her in to the vet?? I would think my own vet would be just as, if not better, to determine that versus a phone call to a hotline that has zero history with my dog?? Not impressed with this experience!!

There is a reason we drive from Havelock to go to Austin Veterinary. I absolutely adore everyone here, they have been phenomenal with my babies. Just yesterday I needed a same day appointment due to my little dog getting hurt. We were in and out with a very thorough exam and meds at a fraction of the cost it would have been at the emergency vet. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of my furry critters.

We've been going to Dr. Sarah for 10 years and we've watched her practice grow. I'm happy to say that she and the other doctors still gives the same love, attention and care to each of our pets that they got when the practice was small. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.
