I adopted my pup Molly (went by Lamb at the shelter) on 2/20. Molly is the most perfect dog ever. She is so loving and so kind. She is well behaved and is everything they promised. I am so happy I was shown so much kindness. My family and I feel so blessed💜🐶

We adopted our cat, Skipper (previously Tomkins) here and the whole experience was great. We worked with two different employees who were both very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The cats are clearly being well taken care of by people who care. Our little guy had been there for a month (I'm not sure how, he's the sweetest, chillest cat) so they even gave us a discount on his adoption fee. I would definitely come here again, they have less turn over than foothills animal shelter because their location isn't as convenient in the Denver area, so it seems like they tend to have more cats to visit.

Exceptionally clean, and well lit environment for the animals. Smaller sized shelter means more care and love goes into getting to know each one of their animals. Foster opportunities are available. When I went in, all the dogs, out of maybe 20 available spots, only two were small/medium sized breeds. Mostly all pitbulls or pitbull mixes. So there was a great selection of pitties and pittie mixes available for adoption. Many available cats as well. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

I previously left a review for this organization several years ago. That review has since disappeared, even though photos of my cat remain attached to the listing. Because of that, I feel it’s important to share my experience again. This was my first time ever adopting a pet. While visiting, I specifically asked staff whether anything might be wrong with the cat I was considering, as he was sneezing repeatedly. I was told this was normal due to the number of animals in the facility. After I paid the adoption fee and completed the process, I was then handed medication and told to give it to him once a day. At no point before payment was I clearly informed that he was sick or required daily medication. This information was only disclosed afterward, despite my having asked directly about hi

So grateful for the hard work shelters do! We feel so lucky to have gotten our sweet Sadie (formerly Canary) from the aurora animal shelter. The staff that helped us were very kind and helping us find the right fur baby for us. Thank you Aurora animal shelter!
