I have all good things to say about Ashland Doggy Darcare, especially Stephanie, my dog’s trainer. My Reese Cup is a 10 month old Pitbull rescue. We got her at 3 months old and started day training after she was fully vaccinated, at 6 months old. She’s been through 10 weeks of day training (3 days/week). We also completed the AKC Star puppy training on Saturdays and the Ecollar training after that, both 6 week trainings. With such a high energy puppy and one who gets super excited to see people and other dogs, we needed help, especially considering Reese is my first dog and I was clueless. Also, my 75 year old father lives with us, and I wanted to make sure she didn’t trip him up or tear his thin skin with rough play. We no longer recommend this daycare. After 3 years of our dog attending regularly, we were shocked to learn he was “permanently dismissed.” During all that time, we were only ever informed of one incident — over a year ago — which was described as a brief “scuffle” while several dogs went through a gate together. We were told there were no injuries, and after a short break, our dog returned to play with no further issues. There were no other incidents that day or at any other time until we were informed of his dismissal when we picked him up at the end of the day. Since his dismissal, we’ve made multiple attempts to get details about any other incidents and were denied. We even tried to speak directly with the practice owner and veterinarian, but she never responded. This has been extreme

Kathleen Crites… your review sounds about on par with them. Going back 5 years. Our dog was “too loud” I guess dogs aren’t allowed to bark or be dogs and do things dogs do to try and entice others to play. We’ve found a place that simply loves our puppy and I drive 30 minutes out of my way just to take him there.

My corgi has been going to daycare here for 3 months now and she absolutely loves it! The staff are all very kind and helpful! The daycare packages are worth the $ if your dog is going numerous times a week. I would highly recommend ashland doggy daycare as they have taken great care of my dog.

We had a fine experience with this place and then suddenly we were told our dog couldn’t come back due to “behavior”. We have no behavior issues at home, at dog parks, on walks, etc. We even have an infant at home who loves to play with “doggy”. Not only was our dog sent home we were in another state and they demanded we find someone to pick him up the same day. The staff is clearly just afraid of our pit bull. If you have a dog with any type of energy or is any “bully breed” I would steer clear of this place.
