Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary

Our family was looking forward to visiting Arthur’s Acres for weeks. It was so inspiring to see how loving and dedicated they are to the animals. Todd led us on an amazing tour with our three young kids. We knew the pigs love apples, bananas, strawberries and pumpkins, so we brought lots of produce to donate. Todd was warm and welcoming and made us laugh. He cares deeply for each individual pig, and is extremely knowledgeable and attuned to their needs. He shared their stories and we learned so much. Many start out traumatized, defensive and afraid. We were moved by how he slowly and patiently works with them, helping them to feel safe and secure, and eventually happy for scratches and belly rubs. We had the most wonderful experience at Arthur’s Acres during their volunteer day! From the moment we stepped onto the farm, it was clear this is a truly special place where animals are deeply loved and cared for. It was my daughter’s 14th birthday week, and she is an absolute pig-obsessed girl! She’s been begging for a pet pig for the longest time, so what better way to see what’s really involved than spending a full day working side-by-side with these beautiful animals? It turned out to be the best birthday gift—a full day of service and volunteering that was good for the soul. One of the best sanctuaries I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Its obvious to anyone present a visit here is well worth the price of admission. Be prepared, wear long pants if not spray repel bug spray on your legs as biting flies are present in isolated places on the farm. The pigs are friendly, and will expect pets. Keep a look out for baby pigs they're fun for the kids.

We drove from Chicago just to visit Arthur’s Acres and it was so worth it!! This is an experience I will never forget. This sanctuary has helped me get through some rough times just from their social media posts and lives, so to visit in person was a dream come true. All the animals here are living their best lives like all animals should and it was so great to see in person. Todd, TD, Bek, and Leslie were so incredibly fun and kind and let us interact with all the residents. It was pure magic and I can’t wait to come back! ☮️❤️🐷

The best farm animal sanctuary ever! What a wonderful tour and lovely experience seeing happy healthy rescued animals living their best lives. The crew are so vey caring and dedicated to the well being and health of the animals and are an integral part of the framework of animal rescue in the country.
