Ansonia Animal Shelter

Be aware, there is a gate that closes @ 2:45pm. I was able to get thru by talking to a city worker managing the gate. Future visits might need a call in advance. Hours of operation as of now has not been updated. Posting a current photo of their hours to help anyone visiting.

I adopted my pittie, Tut, from Ansonia Animal Shelter about eight years ago, and it is to this day the best decision I’ve ever made. They said he’d been in the shelter for a couple of YEARS and were worried because he seemed to be getting depressed. You could really tell they truly love the animals they take in, both by how well they’re cared for and how tirelessly they advocate for them. Tut is the most amazing dog and has enriched my life in every way, and if this shelter hadn’t taken such wonderful care of him (and advocated for him so inexhaustibly) I would never have found him. Thank you guys for all you do!!
