Today my partner and I brought our dog in for his initial visit. Overall, the facility itself is great, and I want to be clear that the veterinarian and the rest of the staff were wonderful. The doctor was knowledgeable, kind, and handled my dog well. We do plan on using their services and rehabilitation pool going forward. However, I had a very upsetting experience with the front desk staff, which needs to be addressed. My dog recently recovered from IVDD, paralysis, and spinal surgery, so keeping him calm and protected is critical. Despite this, the woman at the front desk repeatedly squeaked toys and gave him treats, intentionally riling him up. My partner and I politely asked her multiple times to stop, explaining his medical condition and recovery status. She continued anyway. When

First visit was an amazing experience. Fingers crossed our big boy Henry sees some results after some more sessions. The overall experience was great. Love the doc. Very thorough and a lot of great recommendations for diet and supplements. The only bummer is their availability for appointments trying to get him in weekly for consistency to see results unfortunately.

ANIMAL LOVERS DONT COME HERE! Here’s why. September 3 at noon was my boys swimming therapy session. 12:09 Lourdes the owner comes into the back area where all the therapy happens and yells at these two girls “DO BOTH OF YOU NEED TO BE WORKING WITH HIM”. They reply “yes, he’s not moving his front or back paws” Lourdes then says, the owner of the cat is here early for her treadmill therapy. One of the girls responds you don’t need a life jacket for the cat and the cat is a little vocal. Omg this is the owner of animal wellness apparently some serious issues. Now the girls with my boy Rupert are at the other end of the pool whispering to each other and glancing over at the treadmill area. Remember my baby is in the pool supposed to be getting therapy. And he’s caught in the middle of Lour

My baby walrus sized dog was paralyzed from the neck down in November. He was a wet noodle. A 130lb sack of potatoes with jello legs. I’m sure we looked crazy too from the shock, and the sleep deprivation. We were referred here by the neurologist after his surgery, and Animal Wellness Center of OC accommodated everything. They booked us in 2x a week, and we showed up religiously. The entire facility celebrated the day Maximus took his first steps. Dr. Ellis is an absolute gem. After meeting Dr. Ellis, I knew we were in the right place. They have a full sized pool, which has been essential in Maximus’ recovery. We also utilize the underwater treadmill now that Max is strong enough to use it. Every session before hydrotherapy, Dr. Ellis lugs my massive dog around doing floor rehab exercises

My dog Izzy LOVES it here! She does acupuncture, laser, physical therapy and her favorite is hydrotherapy! She went from being scared and unable to walk to a happy healthy pup, who literally runs into the wellness center with excitement, in just a few months! I can’t recommend them enough!
