Overall a heartbreaking experience, as you go to enter you can hear rodents and birds screeching in discomfort before you even open the door. As soon as the door opens the most rancid odor hits you in the face, it smells of rotten meat and feces. All of the fish were still and in the corner, tanks were filthy. I couldn’t even walk to where the other animals were being kept due to the smell. Absolutely disgusting all around. Low pet supply stock too, they only sell pellets, bedding and aquarium gravel.

I'm very happy to spend my money supporting local, independent businesses, as APPS is. It's old school pet shop that's more focused on pet supplies rather than rare, exotic animals. You'll actually find exotic hard to find supplies like methylene blue. It also doubles as a bait shop, I guess being conveniently along the shore of The Blackstone River. Prices are SURPRISINGLY LOW and the proprietor is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about all types of animals. Skip the big corporate box pet stores for anything except grooming and very exotic pets, which you rarely will find in healthy conditions in the big stores.

I recently bought a bird, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I was fully prepared to take care of my new pet. The store was clean, and all the birds looked healthy and well cared for.

I have never wrote a review in my life but I really had to write a review for this shop because they mistreat the animals. When I went in the fishes were all dead, The birds were not fed. All the animals looked so sad and unhappy 😞 also, they mistreat the newborn baby birds, the baby bird at the bottom is dead and he just threw it to the side and did not care. I am such an animal lover, and to see human treat animals like this really hurt my heart and soul. Please don’t buy your animals from here. They are mistreated and unfed.

We went there earlier this week and the owner was so nice! We origionally went in for cat food, but they didnt have any. When we asked the owner about it he said that they used to sell it, but since not many people bought it they stop restocking. We instead bought something for our rabbit, but since it was only 3 dollars he gave it to us for free! We ended up talking for a while and he told us some things about the shop. Also regarding the smell, it smelled like a normal pet shop. There were no weird or harmfull scents at all.
