Animal Humane New Mexico Westside Adoption Center

They only had five dogs available, probably because they are a small facility and are more user friendly, their set up is good. We adopted a Terrier mix that has been a great dog for us he loves most everyone. No signs of aggression at all, he is just a happy dog. My cats were not happy about the addition, but Buddy, formerly Ernie, is quickly winning them over. The people at this place were all very good with the animals and he clearly liked all of them. I am posting this review for the staff, so they know he is happy.

It is apparent the staff loves the animals. They provided several tips while we were meeting the animals and the animals seemed to be in good spirits. I haven't been to the pound since I was a kid. There are several good looking and sweet pets up for adoption.

I went to visit the shelter looking for a small dog. I was saddened to see all the animals in there. I was glad to see the staff working to clean up and feed them. I am glad they are safe and out of the dangers of the streets. I found a beautiful little dog who I absolutely fell in love with. She is doing wonderful and has adapted to her new home and companion. She is very well trained and has a great temperament and is already potty trained. Thank you for her! Little is now Lola. She is in a loving home with all the treats she wants and lots of toys.

The staff here are kind and honest about whether or not an animal is a good fit for you. Trust their judgement on the good fit. The facilities are clean and I love the information provided to help you transition your home for the new family member. Our newbie is thriving!

Best experience ever, I highly recommend. My doctor for Jason (Jumbo Rat) was perfect. She was caring, smart and cared deeply for her patients.
