Animal Humane Association of Star Valley

The Lucky’s team cares so much about the animals in their shelter! My dog was originally at Lucky’s (before I adopted him through different shelter), and they remembered him almost 10 years later. Star Valley and its animals are so lucky we have Lucky’s!

Since living in star valley I’ve adopted all four of my babies from Luckys. And each time has been an amazing experience. Marianne and Jeanette are exceptional!! Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, just volunteer some time or supplies to the shelter. They are so deserving of it.

I do not recommend this place. Brought our cat here to be fostered while she was having kittens. The shelter said they would call us back when Star was ready to be taken back, in about 5-8 weeks. 9 weeks later we had not gotten a call back, so we called the shelter, told us our cat had given birth and that it should be another week or two before we could pick her up and that they would call us back. Two weeks later we had not been called back so we reached out again and a different receptionist said they didn't know what was going on, but that they would find out and give us a call back the next day. We never got a call back. A week later we called back and the original receptionist said that the foster had reached out about adopting Star and when the shelter said no because we still wante

The more i talk aboht my experience, the more i hear of alot of families in the valley having similar ones. Overall recently Lucky's has unfortunately been extremely difficult and rude. 0 stars. If you find a dog you like, don't expect them to hold it or the adoption process to be easy. We fell in love with Jolene and they said they could hold her for us. Come a week later we tried to do the paperwork and pay for her. Lucky's did everything in there power to convince us not to get her. We explained that we still wanted her and they told us to think about it until Thursday. They then informed us that she was going to a foster home until we picked her up the following weekend. Thursday rolls around and we told them we still wanted her. They told us they had bad news and that the foster famil

I drove about two hours to get here but am so glad I did as I absolutely love this place and recently adopted my new best friend, Sylvester here! The owner really cares about all the animals there and puts her heart and soul into taking care of them. My sweet Sylvester was a very shy boy who wasn’t getting adopted because of his shyness and I decided to give him and chance and now I can’t detach him from my hip! I had the pleasure of meeting so many of the other sweet animals up for adoption while I was there and all I gotta say is do yourself and these animals a favor and drive out to luckys to adopt one of their many sweet, loving animals that need a forever home today!
