Animal Hospital of Chetek

This is the best place to have your fur babies taken care of. Our big girl Miss Mae loves going to see the staff at either location Rice Lake or Chetek. They are so nice and take such great care of our girls. I have even sent pictures with emails to have refills of there medications. I will never take our girls anywhere else. Dr. Kuchevar and Dr. Khan will get right down on the girls level and really care for them. Miss Mae is close to 100 pounds and they let her climb right in there laps. No other vets for our pets.

My cat Sly is a huge baby at the vet. He refuses to cooperate and basically throws the biggest tantrum the entire time he’s there. In the past, he’s usually needed to be sedated so the vet can examine or treat him. However, now that he’s 15 years old, sedation carries more risks. I really appreciated that Dr. Khan shared those concerns and was willing to be patient and work with Sly, even though he was being difficult, instead of immediately turning to sedation. Thanks to that care and patience, we were able to get an ear swab done and start him on antibiotics without sedating him.

My dog had been badly hurt and needed to be seen immediately. They took the time to squeeze her in even though they were fully booked. And when it was determined she would need surgery, they got her in the very next day. They patched her up and while her recovery will take some time, she is feeling much better now. I appreciate that they went above and beyond to help her in her time of need. I couldn’t ask for more from a vet.

This is such a wonderful vet clinic. There are several clinics closer to where I live, but I prefer to drive further in order to bring my pets here. The treatment animals (and their humans) receive here is exceptional.

Both of the times that I have needed to have my cats seen on very short notice these guys were the ones who were able to find a way to fit them into the schedule to see them same day. They were actually the only ones who were even willing to entertain the possibility of asking the doctor if they could get my cat in even with a booked up schedule. Their prices are also very reasonable. Around $80 for the exam. But, naturally costs will go up depending on what you need after that.
