Animal Friends of the Valleys

I never, ever. Had a cat before but I honestly came here to get one just to keep mice out of our house. I didn't want to go through a breeder.So I said hey let me go to the shelter. And I'm so glad I did! First of all This. Is the most beautiful animal shelter i've seen in my life. I could tell, Although a little skinny, that the animals were taking good care of. It was extremely hard to not get a puppy, But I went straight to the cat section looked around , and I was just going to pick one , but I asked one of the workers there , what kind of cat should I get for the reason I wanted it. And they directed me to a woman who's had , I think , three years of experience Breeding persian cats. Anyways , this woman and another woman took me back and forth to different cats , both of them sharing

So many sweet friendly fur babies. Told a maintenance guy there was poop in a dogs’ room and he just said “oh they’ll get it” as if it would have taken him more than a minute to clean it. Conditions are still pretty good compared to other shelters. But please slow down your euthanizing. Give the poor things a better chance at a happy life. You can tell most of the workers are genuinely kind to the animals. Thank you for being there for them.

I never thought I was a cat person until I went to AFV! I wanted to take my 2 year old to see animals but instead we came home with the cutest kitten and our family has been so happy. From the welcome volunteers, the ladies at the front desk even the ladies at the gift shop where amazing and sweet but most of all Ms Sherry (the cat lady) was phenomenal. She was so helpful, sweet and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to everyone, thank you for the staff who made the adoption process a breeze. It was the best $25.00 I've ever spent! -new kitten Mom :)

I visited yesterday to adopt a puppy! the staff is very kind and the animals are very well socialized so not a lot of sad faces thanks to the people working there. truly if you are going to get a animal for ur home come to this shelter 😁❤️

Although I love my dog I was looking for a bigger dog which I was told that my little puppy would grow to be a pitbull she look nothing like a pitbull actually look like a German Shepherd they said she was 8 weeks old which I believe she was a lot younger cuz she was extremely tiny but I still got her because my daughter wanted her she is about 6 months now and looks like a straight mutt has anybody else experienced this there? On a side note her siblings did look Pitbull but I feel like they had two sets of puppies put together that kind of resembled each other I think they had some pitbulls mixed in with some mutts they say that they were all brought in together so I'm guessing they were assuming they were all part of the same litter and I have not got a DNA kit since they're so expensiv
