Animal Control

I’m really disappointed with how I was treated by Saint Paul Animal Control, especially by Molly. My gate was accidentally left open, and my dog got out for a short time. Instead of kindness or understanding, I was told I “should be better at containing my dog.” I’ve recently lost my job and am already under stress, and to be spoken to without compassion. Especially about my child’s emotional support animal—was just upsetting. Public service should come with empathy, not judgment. I will be escalating this complaint for the lack of empathy and respect.

Staff are rude and have no compassion for pert owner. If you cannot have compassion or understanding for humans it make me question how the animals are treated. My experience was horrible after my pet got lost. They were unwilling to answer my questions when I was trying to educate myself on city ordinance. Repeatedly stating the same information instead of being informative by answering my direct question. I was event told I should be appreciative of them of anything that they are doing for me. The nerve of an employee of any establishment that feels like comments like that are good customer service especially from The City of St Paul employees. Called as a neighbor nearby has decaying animals causing it to smell really bad. The lady who answered the phone was rude, and extremely arrogant. But I guess this is what you can expect with over population. These days nobody cares.

Sitting on my porch,I saw a dog trotting down the street that had a collar with tags obvious it. I had a feeling it was a runaway so I called to it and it came to me. I checked and found a current license tag and found a phone number and called several times but no answer. So I called Animal Control and spoke with a very nice and helpful lady there. While she was looking up the files to give me the address on record, the own drove by and spotted her. Said she had escaped a couple hours before. Happy ending to this tale. Point is the courtesy and professionalism of the lady I spoke with.

I visited SPAC to meet with a few dogs to possibly foster one for a rescue. The staff was nothing but kind and courteous - you can tell they spend time with and care for each animal that comes through. The animals were clean and well cared for, as was the facility.
