Animal Aid Inc

Animal Aid is a wonderful rescue that cares about each and every cat that comes through their doors. The facility is set up so that the cats are able to free roam in the main cat room or can have their own room if needed. Every time I’ve visited there has been at least one person playing and interacting with the cats. Joe has been so helpful from the first day I met my Farah to today. They have been very responsive to questions and have offered helpful advice for her ongoing care. She is a very special lady and my littlest baby <3 I’m so thankful to Animal Aid for all their support and kindness throughout this.

I adopted a cat from Animal Aid last month. They have a beautiful, well-maintained facility in SW Portland. I loved being able to drop in and meet the cats before adapting. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and take great care of the cats. I would definitely adopt from them again!

We love our Jenny! We were looking to adopt a kitty and started at the Humane Society but they have strict rules on interacting with cats if you are not committed to adopting that cat same day. We then found Animal Aid and absolutely loved the environment and location. You can play and hang out with all the kitties to see which one would be a good fit. My husband fell in love with the shy one, Jenny. She's been home with us for about a month and she's the sweetest. She always wants her paw on you. The staff was so friendly and informative. We made a monetary donation when we adopted and I recently dropped off some wet food. Definitely happy to support and cannot say enough good things about this non profit.

Animal aid is one of the most special places there is!! I have been a volunteer for about 1.5 years and am sadly moving out of state. I have loved coming in every other week to spend time and play with all the cats (basically free therapy). Being able to just sit with an animal and understand just how amazing they are is a gift that can be hard to come by. The staff and each volunteer really make a huge impact the community and do work that is so important/special, something I will always cherish. Thank you!!

Ten years ago, we visited Animal Aid in hopes of adopting a cat. I was apprehensive because I wasn't really a cat person. My wife was and so I agreed to adopt a cat. Almost every cat bit me, except for Hightops. Little did we know, but Hightops spent over a year in and out of some shelters and at 8 years old, faced not being adopted. We adopted Hightops and at first he was shy, scared, and afraid of a lot. After we gained his trust his subtle personality began to shine. We enjoyed a solid ten years with Hightops. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to him recently. He will be remembered. I originally wanted a kitten, but this little guy quickly changed my mind. We'll miss you buddy!
