Aiken County Animal Shelter

I volunteer with the shelter as an occasional dog walker and I also open my home up to foster. I’ve had the joy of building profiles on the fosters to provide potential adopters. The shelter has amazing staff and the animals are always in good care. We recently took in a foster, Angel, for the Thanksgiving foster event and it was a blast (as you can see from photos)! I definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking for volunteer opportunities, adoption, or want to spoil a dog for a day. There’s plenty of ways to get involved!

We adopted Madison she has been the best puppy we ever owned! She is 4 months old has had zero accidents even over night. The process was very easy, we met her and her sister and chose her signed the paperwork paid and we were on the way❤️We love her thank you so much!

When you call and inquire about an animal,they don’t actually give you information. I called about Bella and I had my heart set on her. The gentleman I spoke to the first time I called said he would cat test her for me and never did. He took my information and I never heard anything. When I called again the morning of my visit,I asked if they could tell me anything about her and informed them my information was left,she was to be cat tested and I had never heard anything. The older lady on the phone told me to “Just come see her” and I would get all the answers. I had informed not only the gentleman but also the woman on two separate occasions that I would have to drive an hour to get there with my two small children and would prefer to know any relevant information so I didn’t waste my ga

Aiken shelter was great. Adopted this jewel. They had named her Rapunzel. We changed it to Grace. She has adjusted so well. Looking healthy and happy. She is so happy and secure. Had her a year 5/23/25

Where should I begin... The lady who helped during the adoption process was very helpful. The entire staff where the kittens/cats are were super respectful and very helpful. If you're looking for a Dog/Cat, i highly recommend checking here. Prices were reasonable and even offered a little bit of kitten food once we adopted.
