Adopted a 5 month old rescue kitten September 2025. Worked with Sue. Truly cares about all of the kittens, cats, and senior cats in Ahimsa's care Extremely diligent when approving application for adoption. Putting the kittens well being first. Making sure a perfect fit and a loving home where kitten will be well taken care of and be loved. Extremely clean shelter and all ages of cats very well taken care of. .

I adopted a young cat from Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue at the end of November and the process was amazing. I met Lila May (previously Samantha) a week prior to adopting, Sue and Nicole were outstanding to work with! Lila has settled in phenomenally and loves her older brother. Her personality is outstanding, she's vocal, energetic, and cuddly.

This is a great shelter to adopt from! Very clean & well maintain. Large areas for the cats to roam and play in. I adopted a bonded Senior pair And I’m so happy I did. They have a lower price for adopting senior cats, which is a big plus I also like that. They do a thorough background check on anyone wanting to Adopt. The Shelter staff also make sure that the animal you were picking out and you Are compatible. Before I decide to adopt my pair, they answered all my questions. Why they were given up. If all shots and physicals were up-to-date. The cats temperament, Litter box train, etc. I could not be more pleased With choosing the Shelter to adopt from.

Every experience I’ve had with Ahimsa has been wonderful. The staff are incredibly kind, caring, and truly dedicated to the animals. Over the years my family has adopted several cats from Ahimsa, including two FIV+ cats, Jack and Asia, who were perfect fits for our home. In 2022 we adopted Athena through their Take a Chance on Me program, and with patience and love she has blossomed into the sweetest, most loyal companion. Most recently, after losing our beloved cat Lana, Ahimsa helped us find Flow (now Sammy). He has brought so much joy and comfort during a difficult time, and we are so grateful for the compassion and care Ahimsa has shown every step of the way.

I am deeply grateful to Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue (specifically Sue M.) for the care, thoughtfulness, and communication throughout my adoption experience. Sue did an excellent job working with me to find the right cat for our home. She really listened, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to ensure the match would be a good one—for both me and the cat. I never felt rushed or pushed in any direction. Merci (formerly Marasi) was part of their “Take a Chance on Me” program, and I am so thankful that Ahimsa Haven was willing to take her in, work with her vet to treat her diabetes, and give her the care she needed. I know not every rescue is able or willing to do that, and it speaks volumes about their compassion and commitment to animals who need a little extra support. Merci has
