Great local pet store! The employees are all super friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of products and fair pricing.

I called the store because it was getting close for the store to be closed. I ask to please, stay another few minutes because I was almost there. And, I was leaving the city next day so it was the last minute call. It was such a relief to be able to get those treats because it was a present for our family dog who lives outside of NYC. I will be coming for more soon, Thank you so much!!!

Acme is wonderful. They are generous and gracious with their time and expertise. They do free one-day local delivery. Ordering from them over the phone or stopping by is as easy or easier than ordering from a big online retailer, and much more pleasant of an experience!

After getting surgery the people here took care of me and made me feel welcome and gave me a huge assist with delivering the pet supplies. The gentleman who took care of me is an awesome soul. Each time I go they are always there with a hello and ready to assist. Unlike my major criticism of a majority of Vanderbilt Ave business where you never feel welcome unless you look the Connecticut Greenwich type - elite snobby lib type hog up the sidewalk and make you squeeze by them lol .. ugh gentrification lol This shop is definitely my top pet store in the area. A true local nyc small business that deserves nothing but the best from the community and our local municipal resources if they ever need the support. Pet owners give them a try. You'll see for yourself.

Brian, the owner of Acme, is extremely knowledgeable. We were struggling with our dog's gastrointestinal distress for weeks, including multiple wakings to go out every night. The vet wanted to conduct a bunch of expensive tests, but Brian recommended a particular brand of kibble (Diamond Care) that he swore by. We tried it, and the problem cleared up almost immediately. Within 2-3 days, our dog was back to normal. You will never get that kind of advice from a corporate chain with minimum-wage employees, or from an anonymous online conglomerate. Everyone at Acme is friendly and attentive, and they have or will order anything you want or need. It's the kind of small, old-fashioned neighborhood business that really makes a difference.
