We adopted Stormie (formerly Noel) from Abandoned Pet Rescue, and it was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From the moment we met her, the staff was kind, patient, and genuinely invested in making sure she found the right home — not just any home. They were transparent about her background, answered all of our questions, and made the entire adoption process feel supportive and thoughtful. You can tell this organization truly cares about every animal that walks through their doors. Stormie has brought so much love, laughter, and personality into our lives — and she now has a big sister, Hollie, who absolutely adores her. Watching them bond has been the greatest gift. We are forever grateful for the care Stormie received before becoming part of our family. If you’re conside

Exceptional Experience - Worth the Drive for the Right Match! After several attempts to adopt a Corgi mix at other shelters—where we often found ourselves "too late" or stuck behind multiple holds—finding Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) was a breath of fresh air. We drove 45 minutes to get there, and it was worth every mile. The process was professional and personal from start to finish: Initial Inquiry: A volunteer named Erica called me shortly after I filled out an application. She spent a significant amount of time giving me specific details about the Papillon/Corgi mix I was interested in, ensuring I had all the info I needed before making the trip. The Meet & Greet: We brought our resident Boxer along for a scheduled visit. The staff handled the introduction beautifully, and we were giv

We found our fur babies here and our contact Erica has been amazing every step of the way!!! She was very helpful and answered all of my questions no matter how silly. She made the process easy and I appreciate everything she did for us! Linda was our vet contact and equally wonderful in being helpful and available to answer my new puppy mom questions. Everyone here has made the process very smooth and they are phenomenal! If we could adopt more we absolutely would from them! 💜 Definitely visit them and adopt, volunteer, or donate!!

This is a wonderful & well organized rescue. The staff is professional and caring. They all truly love the animals so much. Caring for a pet is a serious commitment and they try their best to find the most loving and most appropriate home for that dog or cat. I have supported this rescue for many years. After my own pet crossed the rainbow bridge it took me some time before I was ready. When i was I knew i wanted to rescue a dog from APR. I rescued a wonderful dog and he has made a wonderful addition to my family. Please do not hesitate to rescue from APR.

We were impressed by the care and placing of abandoned dogs and cats that Abandoned Pet and Rescue showed. Barbara spent a lot of time with us and was honest and knowledgeable about the dogs we visited. Erica was super responsive in getting back to us when we said we wanted to visit. We found our perfect match in a 3 year old mixed German Shorthair Pointer and English Pointer we named Coco! A healthy and happy fur baby addition to our pack!!
