Wonderful facility and amazing people! :D :D :D From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly, compassionate staff and volunteers who clearly care deeply about the animals. The facility is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully set up to give each animal the space and comfort they deserve. The team is knowledgeable and responsible—making sure pets are fully cared for with vaccinations and spay/neuter completed before adoption. Their photos and posts do an incredible job capturing each animal’s personality, love, and potential as a new family member. I absolutely adore the pup I chose to add to my family (and honestly, their posts are so good they make it hard not to want to adopt more)! Highly recommend this rescue to anyone looking to add a loving companion to their home.

I know this review is well overdue but I got her a few years ago and she has been the sweetest kitty and I’m grateful this rescue brought her to me! They were so kind when I got her. I believe she was fostered by an employee so they were able to give me in depth details on her which was very helpful! This is Miss. Polly aka Polly pocket! Still as vocal as ever! Would recommend this place!

We had such a positive experience adopting our dog, Cleo (Muttilda), from AAR. Their staff is exceptionally knowledgeable about dog behavior and temperaments, which was key to our successful adoption. They didn't just help us pick a dog; they helped us find the best dog for our specific family dynamics, including making sure she was a great match for our other dog, Luna. The care and attention they put into the matching process is truly outstanding. On top of that, we love supporting AAR because they are a non-kill shelter. Their dedication to ensuring every dog has the opportunity to meet their forever family is inspiring. If you're looking to adopt, AAR is the place to go!

Abandoned Animal Rescue is beyond an incredible organization. The facility is clean, organized & spacious with different fenced areas to meet or evaluate dogs. The staff was helpful, friendly and knew what was going on at all times. Elaine was beyond helpful, dedicated and so wise about dogs and people who adopt them. Melinda was extremely helpful because I had an unusual situation that required upper management involvement. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars - they deserve 10 stars! I adopted Sterling, a Siberian Husky to be a playmate for my 10 year old dog who doesn't meet new dogs easily. With a slow introduction that took 2 weeks, these two are now best friends and so happy with each other. Sterling is sweet and gentle with my 14 year old dog too. He was in the shelter

My partner and I were ready to adopt a new cat after the loss of our 21 year old boy in December. After looking at reviews of shelters in the area, Abandoned Animal Rescue really stood out to me. Their glowing reviews are well earned. Thanks to the help of the lovely women working in the cat section, we took home a sweet, scared little boy (his shelter name was Trevor, but we've renamed him Finnley). I trusted AAR when they said he was cuddly and friendly at his foster home, despite being very skittish and anxious in the shelter. I was shocked at how quickly he warmed up to us, and as seen in the photos I'm posting, 24 hours later he's feeling right at home. I would absolutely recommend this shelter to anyone looking for a new pet. They take the time to get to know the animals' personaliti
