A Cut Above Grooming Salon West

After being refused service by Petco this morning (12/11) at 9 am in the morning, I looked around at private groomers in the area that could deal with some matted fur in my pup's private areas. I booked online for a 10am appointment which was fast and easy. The lady working was so kind and took extra care of Mimi. She was informative, friendly, and welcoming to us - even as a new last minute clients. I would 100% recommend their services. They are a little pricey and for the customer service and work, it is worth every penny for the best care of our pup. The results were so worth it too!

We are so thrilled to have this amazingly talented team open their new location on the Peninsula! Nathan has been grooming our Standard Poodle, Coco, since she was a puppy. We literally have people stopping us constantly in order to ask where we get her groomed. Coco gets so excited when she realizes she is going to see her “friends” which is a true testament to their gentle care and love for what they do. The award winning team regularly participates in national grooming competitions, often taking home top honors. As Certified Master Groomers, they’ve recently extended their industry leadership by teaching breed specific grooming techniques. A Cut Above is amazing! They always do an incredible job on my Wire Fox Terrier Archie, who requires handstripping. I have been taking Archie to the Castro Valley location for several years and am so delighted that they have opened a Peninsula location. I highly recommend A Cut Above to anyone, particularly if your dog requires breed-specific grooming.

Fantastic experience. Seems like the group behind this also participates in Dog Shows which was neat to learn. Brought by my 9 year old Shih-Pooh and they did a great job grooming him. Have gone twice and had the same experience each time.

I have been taking my dog to A Cut Above for years since she was a puppy! I am so happy they have a location in San Mateo. Kiwi has a wonderful time at the groomers and always comes back looking amazing. Would highly recommend the entire team! Huge shout out to Katie and Kat who have done a wonderful job with Kiwi!
