I wish Dr Fernando covered my area because he is an absolute genius when it comes to soundness issues. For the last couple of years I’ve hauled in for countless soundness exams & injections for our sport horses and rescues and he is the only vet I trust for sports medicine. Recently I had a mare who had a nearly impossible to fix infection in her bursa after a hock injury from a trailer. We had a local vet stitch her and give antibiotics but it wasn’t strong enough. A few days later she developed a really bad infection so we took her to 3H Vet Hospital and left her in his care for about 3 weeks. I knew if he couldn’t fix her no one could. My horse Chicken Little had a very unusual surgery at this beautiful clinic on December 30, 2024. The surgery seemed very involved to us and involved removing a piece of her skull in her face, removing a cyst, and replacing the bone. She spent a week at 3H and then continued her recovery at home where she is boarded. She had her post-op appointment after about 3 weeks. After her stitches and Foley catheter were removed, she started healing quickly. About a month post-surgery she started exercising again. She wasn’t completely healed as her nasal passages had to regenerate, but she was healthy enough to do light work. She did very well and was happy to be back at her job. Dr. Fernando has been my vet for many, many years. But more recently I’ve been boarding my horse at 3H. With 3 colic surgeries and an on again/off again lameness that’s been difficult to pinpoint or manage I knew a typical show barn wasnt going to work. My horse has done a complete 180 since coming here 3 months ago. He has thrived being in the rehab program - he went from bolting and bucking me off every other ride to completely relaxing and being the brave horse I originally purchased. His soundness issues have disappeared - I count that due to the vet care he’s received AND the footing in the arena. It’s meticulously cared for each day. Best vet in town! Dr Fernando is knowledgeable, kind to his equine patients, and great at explaining what the procedure is while he’s doing it! Quality service that puts the horse first! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 my horse Bolt punctured his superficial & had to do months of rehab. We weren’t sure he would come back but Dr FC has him winning again! They are the only vet I recommend!!!

We worked with 3H Equine Hospital and Dr. Fernando to import our mare. Before this, we’d only ever imported geldings, so weren’t totally sure about the process for a mare. From start to finish, the staff and Dr. Fernando were extremely professional and helpful, and the care and facility were outstanding. When we import another mare in the future, we’ll definitely be working with 3H again. Thank you all!
